Walking Series

A Cake Walk is a fantastic concept as well as euphemism for an easy experience. I like to image it literally and loved the feeling of the icing in between my toes.

Walking on Eggshells is another expression that I have always loved, even though it describes a stressful event. I saved all of the eggs from a year of making my younger son’s breakfast.  Smashing the eggshells underfoot was strangely satisfying.

For Record Walk, I made a path out of 78 records that are composed of shellac- a resin secreted by female lac bugs. When you drop one they shatter, step on them and they crack like ice on a pond.
